Monthly Bookkeeping

Bookkeeping that keeps your business organized, informed and ready for what's next.

You shouldn't have to wait until tax season to find out how your business is doing. We help you maintain organized records, reconcile accounts, and get reliable reports all year long.

Know Where Your Business Stands

Your books should help you understand your business.

Many owners know their bank balance, but aren't sure:

How profitable the business really is
Which expenses are increasing
Whether customers still owe money
How much the business owes
Whether the books are tax-ready
If they can afford to hire or expand

When your books are current, you decide using real numbers — not memory or bank balances.

Payroll must agree with the books. We coordinate recording and review if we handle both.

Bookkeeping & Sales Tax

Sales tax collected isn't business income — it should be tracked separately from revenue.

When Cleanup Is Required First

Missed months, unreconciled accounts, or mixed personal/business activity? Cleanup comes before monthly service.

Bookkeeping for Business Owners

Your business and personal finances should stay separated.

One of the most common bookkeeping problems is mixed personal and business transactions. Owners should generally maintain:

  • Separate business bank accounts
  • Separate business credit cards
  • Clear records of owner contributions
  • Clear records of owner draws or distributions
  • Documentation for business expenses paid personally
  • Documentation for personal expenses paid by the business
  • Consistent payroll and reimbursement procedures

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you get started.

Do I need QuickBooks Online?

It's our preferred platform for most engagements. If you use another system, we'll review whether it's appropriate for your service.

How often will my books be updated?

Generally monthly, according to your service schedule and how quickly required information arrives.

When will I receive my reports?

Timing depends on your service plan and how quickly requested information is provided.

Do you need access to my bank account?

We may request secure read-only or accountant access. We never ask for your banking password by email, text, or WhatsApp.

Can you pay my bills or send invoices?

Bill payment and invoicing are separate services unless specifically included in your plan.

Does monthly bookkeeping include my tax return?

No. Business and personal tax preparation are separate services.

Does bookkeeping include tax advice?

Routine bookkeeping may surface tax-related issues, but tax planning and personalized advice are separate advisory services.

Can you take over books from another bookkeeper?

Yes. We first review the existing records to confirm they're current and reliable.

What happens if my books are behind?

Catch-up or cleanup work may be required before monthly service can begin.

Can you help me understand my reports?

Yes. Report review may be included in certain plans, or added as an advisory service.

Pricing

Priced based on the scope of work.

Number of accounts, transaction volume, payroll and sales tax activity, receivables/payables, inventory, job costing, entity count, and the condition of your existing books all factor in. After reviewing your business, we'll recommend the appropriate scope and monthly fee.

Catch-up, cleanup, setup and historical corrections are priced separately.
